The Body Shop's Stop Sex Trafficking logo is clever, has multiple meanings, and is bold and memorable—all signs of a great logo. And it looks like it helped lead a successful campaign! I always love seeing other peoples sketches of how the logo evolved.
It seems that Spike Lee doesn't have as much respect for the work as graphic designers as he does for his lofty profession. Two examples here of him (well, probably not really HIM, but his people) being pretty lousy to designers. For the recent Old Boy movie the designer never got paid for his work but they used his designs anyway. And even more of a cut and dry case—blatant plagiarism of Saul Bass' classic Anatomy of a Murder poster "repurposed" for the Clockers movie back in '95. I love how this article gives an example of that classic design inspiring another movie poster (Precious), without totally ripping it off.
Not so much design related, but is Highlight our future... or our children's future? This new social media platform sounds pretty crazy to me, but then again I'm sure Facebook sounded crazy to people when it first started, too. Super cool or super creepy, indeed!
