An annual or impact report (what’s the difference?) is an essential tool for nonprofits to clearly illustrate their accomplishments, engage donors, and secure future support.
Creating an impact report can feel intimidating—especially if you’ve never produced one before. That’s why I’ve taken my years of experience in nonprofit design and built a simple, streamlined system to guide you through it. It will save you time, get great results and—dare I say—even be fun.
I know it can be hard to find a designer you can rely on—especially if you've had negative experiences in the past. I’ll let my portfolio and testimonials speak for themselves, but here’s a little background: I’ve run my own graphic design business for 12 years, built almost entirely through word-of-mouth and repeat clients. I truly care about the work I do, and I’m here to make your mission shine.
I understand that an investment like this can feel like a risk—especially when every dollar counts and success is essential. That’s why I’ll be with you every step of the way, providing steady communication and ensuring a final product that truly reflects your mission and accomplishments. The value of a professional, well-crafted impact report far outweighs the time and cost of producing it (*link to blog post about the cost-benefit analysis*). Isn't it time to put your nonprofit in the spotlight?
“Usually when working with a graphic designer, I expect a fair amount of iteration on a project to get the design right. However, your first draft of the documents I asked you to design where spot on and exactly what I was looking for. I was 100% satisfied with your work and the process.”
We'll work together to create an impressive impact report through these simple steps:
During our kickoff call, we'll talk over your goals and expectations for the report, key deadlines, and the overall timeline to ensure we're fully aligned from the start. Afterward, I'll set up your client portal, giving you easy access to all the resources and materials you'll need throughout the project.
I'll provide you with a writing guide, content outline, and checklist that covers everything you’ll need—from a list of files to gather, suggested word counts, and recommended visuals to enhance your report. With these tools, you'll feel confident and prepared to create your content, making the process easy and efficient. While I don’t write the content for you, I’m here to help, offering editing and adjustments as we work on the design to ensure it fits the space and resonates with your audience.
Once your content is ready and files are gathered, I'll design a custom layout that reflects your brand and mission, making sure your message is both clear and visually appealing. I’ll start by designing two pages of the report to get your approval and finalize the visual style. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to provide feedback and make revisions, with three rounds of major revisions included, plus any minor edits as needed.
You’ll receive both a print-ready and digital version of a polished, ready-to-share report—perfect for emailing, printing, or posting on your website. Your impact report will impress your funders, inspire new donors, and clearly show off your nonprofit’s achievements—leaving you feeling confident, proud, and ready to share it with the world.
“I had the most enjoyable experience working with Ventura Graphic Design on our recent impact report. Libby is incredibly organized and responsive. I especially appreciated her thoughtful suggestions when we needed creative solutions to fit content into limited space.
Libby’s project management process stood out, making the experience smooth and efficient from start to finish. The client portal and Adobe project management tools were easy to navigate, which was a huge help given my busy schedule.
The entire process felt streamlined and well-managed—just what I needed. I’m grateful for Libby’s professionalism and creative eye, and I look forward to working with her again!”
How long does it take?
Expect about 6 weeks from start to finish. This includes 2 weeks for you to create the content, 2 weeks for the initial design draft, and 2 weeks for revisions and final approval. If you have a large team or need extra approvals, consider adding another week or two just in case!
What if we don't have all the content ready?
No worries! I provide a writing guide, outline, and checklist to help you gather everything you need quickly and easily. You’ll be organized and ready to go in no time. If you’re like me, there’s nothing like having a deadline to keep you on track. My client portal includes a timeline that will help us stick to our target dates.
Can I give feedback and request changes during the design process?
Absolutely! Your feedback is crucial, and adjustments can be made along the way. To kick things off, I'll design a sample of 2–3 pages to give you a sense of the overall look and style. You'll have the opportunity for one major revision at this stage. Once we’ve got the design locked down, I’ll lay out the rest of the report. We’ll have two rounds of revisions for the full report, plus any minor edits needed, to ensure it aligns perfectly with your vision.
What if we need more customized features?
This service is fully customizable to meet your needs. To enhance your report even further, consider these optional add-ons. You can choose from social media graphics, a one-pager or postcard mailer summary, a direct mail package, an interactive digital version, printing and mailing services, or even a brand refresh. We also offer proofreading and copy-writing services to ensure your content is polished and professional.

“Libby is wonderful to work with! For our annual report, she took time to listen to our general ideas for the look and layout and turned it into something beautiful that perfectly matched what we had envisioned. We have received a lot of great feedback on the design of this year’s report.”
